Doctor in Bioinformatics (2007), and Master in Computer Science (2003), both at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil. He completed a Postdoctoral stay at Texas A&M University, 2016. He has a degree in Systems Engineering from the Catholic University of Santa María (Arequipa), 1993. He is currently Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, is founder and leader of the Scientific Group in Artificial Intelligence (IA-PUCP) and President of the IEEE Computer Society (2019-2020) of which he is a Senior Member. He has a recognized academic career in different universities in the country and abroad.
